Work at height competency | Training course

The principles of the Work at Height Regulations and the selection and use of suitable access equipment.

Course objectives

To enable delegates to become competent in the selection and appropriate use of access equipment for working at height.

Who will benefit

All those responsible for the planning, selection or supervision of access equipment for working at height.

Course content

  • The work at height hierarchy
  • Duties under the Work at Height Regulations
  • Requirements for organisation, planning and competence
  • Selection of work equipment
  • Different types of equipment and their safety issues
  • Use of ladders, steps and low-level access
  • Test paper

5-12 (larger groups by arrangement)

Training methods

Lectures, demonstration and practical use.

Certification

Successful delegates will receive a Harsco Infrastructure work at height competency certificate.

PPE requirement

Classroom format. Delegates should have a safety helmet, boots, gloves and eye protection, plus casual clothes.
