GRP Roadplate

The Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Roadplate is a temporary road cover designed to cover apertures and trench excavations during construction and repair work. It is a lightweight alternative to traditional steel plates.

Weighing just 46 kg and measuring 1200mm x 1400mm, it can easily be manoeuvred by two people yet can support loads of up to 6 tonnes. It is suitable to cover excavations up to 700mm square. It has an anti-slip surface for extra safety.

The GRP Roadplate is designed to support the majority of Heavy Goods Vehicles up to the normal weight restrictions. It should be used on firm ground where it can be recessed into the surface. Where possible it should be secured to the road surface with fixing pins or anchors.

The Roadplate will provide a safety cover to excavations no greater than 700mm x 700mm. The plate should be positioned so that the longest dimension (1400mm) runs perpendicular to the excavation (across the width of the trench).
